Hermetic compressors differ structurally from the related types, such as the semi-hermetic (motor and compressor mechanical components form a unit) and open reciprocating compressors (motor is separated from the compressor) by having an encapsulated configuration.
In a reciprocating hermetic compressor, due to the hermetic seal of the refrigerating circuit of the compressor body, unlike the two alternatives – no refrigerant leaks are possible.
Hermetic reciprocating compressors are the most commonly used refrigeration compressors market.
